🎤🌐Comenzamos con conversatorios presenciales. Hoy, nuestra Vicepresidenta, nutricionista María Paz Orrego almorzó y dialogó con los alumnos de Ingeniería UC respecto a una alimentación basada en plantas. Agradecer a la gestora @sophiajander y @caipuc por la invitación. La educación de dieta plantbased y derechos animales en las aulas de todas las universidades y colegios es fundamental.
Recordemos que el pleno aprobó:
📌Derechos de los animales a vivir una vida libre de maltrato ya que son considerados seres que poseen sistema nervioso por lo tanto son sintientes.
📌El Estado debe promover educación basada en la empatía y en el respeto hacia todos los animales.

✅”Los animales serán sujetos de especial protección. El estado los protegerá, reconociendo su sintiencia y el derecho a vivir una vida libre de maltrato.
El estado y sus organismos promoverán una educación basada en la empatía y en el respeto hacia los animales”. Así dice la norma que fue aprobada por mayoría el día de hoy en Chile.
Esto se logró gracias a las campañas de diversas organizaciones animalistas como @derechoydefensanimal que instalaron esta necesidad y apoyaron el proceso, del cual también pudimos ser parte, cuando nuestro fundador @mauricioserranopalma expuso en la comisión de medio ambiente de la convención, contra el rodeo y en favor de los animales.
De aprobarse la nueva constitución, Chile tendría en su Carta Magna una base para seguir defendiendo a los animales.

This was achieved thanks to many animal organizations, such as @derechoydefensanimal which raised awareness of this issue and supported the process. We were also a part of this goal, when our founder @mauricioserranopalma spoke out against rodeo and in favor of the animals in the Environment Comission of the convention.
If this new Constitution is approved, animals will have a foundation in the Constitution to be protected.

Nuestra campaña #falsalibertad logró que se declaré ilegal por la Corte Suprema la avícola que, según nuestra investigación, proveía de huevos de “gallinas libres” con certificación a Ecoterra. Un avance sin precedentes, que echa por tierra, la falsa publicidad que ofrecía esta avícola como las irregularidades en las “certificaciones” que tienen estos lugares. ¡Avance histórico! Nuestra campaña #falsalibertad, donde denunciamos por primera vez en Chile la realidad de los huevos de “gallinas libres”, tuvo un positivo resultado en la Corte Suprema, donde se sentenció a favor de Animal Libre y la denuncia que hicimos por irregularidades en la avícola que expusimos.
Nuestro director jurídico, @diego.friver indicó que “es un hito histórico en materia de derechos medioambientales dado que un grupo de vecinos sin grandes recursos fue capaz de vencer -a través de una ONG sin fines de lucro- a una gran y poderosa industria que ocupa una imagen y certificaciones para vender productos a mayor precio. Con lo anterior, se logrará mejorar la calidad de vida de las gallinas y permitir a los vecinos vivir su vida sin las molestias que ocasiona la actividad de la avícola.”
Esto confirma el mal proceder de esta empresa “certificada” que aludía a un mayor bienestar animal y buenas condiciones de los animales, cuando la realidad es totalmente distinta.

Historic progress! Our campaign #Falsalibertad, where we exposed for the first time in Chile the reality of “free-range” eggs, had a positive result in the Supreme Court. The ruling was in favor of Animal Libre and our complaint regarding the poultry farm.
Our legal director, @diego.friver, stated: “This is a historic milestone regarding environmental rights, since through a non-profit NGO, a group of neighbors was able to defeat a powerful industry that uses certifications to sell products at higher prices. This decision will improve the quality of life for hens and will allow the neighbors to live their lives without the problems caused by the poultry farm’s operations.”
This confirms the wrongdoing of this “certified” company, which claimed to have higher animal welfare and good living conditions, when the reality is entirely different.

🖊📄 Ayer @marcesandovaldiputada junto a nuestra Vicepresidenta @mariapazorrego firmó y se comprometió a trabajar en el desarrollo de políticas de protección, respeto y bienestar para todos los animales sin distinción. Este compromiso incluye el trabajo y promoción de proyectos que castiguen y prohíban cualquier acto que involucre sufrimiento animal, rodeo, carrera de perros, etc. y también los proyectos de ley #mimenúvegano y #etiquetadovegano

🌱📢Hemos aparecido en gran parte de los medios de prensa de Chile, donde nuestro fundador @mauricioserranopalma habló de la importancia de este proyecto de ley en el marco de nuestra campaña #EtiquetadoVegano.
“Estamos muy contentos con esta iniciativa; ya que sería un avance sin precedentes que ayudaría al creciente grupo de personas que está optando por elegir productos veganos; ya sea por los animales, su salud o el medio ambiente”.

Hoy estuvimos en el matinal de @radiocooperativa para todo Chile hablando del lamentable rechazo al proyecto de ley con el cual buscábamos prohibir las carreras de perros en el país.
En este audio que ha destacado Cooperativa, nuestro fundador @mauricioserranopalma indicó que “el que se practique hace un tiempo y se defienda como tradición, no justifica su continuidad, menos cuando existe maltrato animal.

📢El proyecto de ley para prohibir las carreras de perros fue rechazado el día de hoy en la cámara de diputados y diputadas de Chile, pero dimos un gran paso y seguiremos trabajando para que esta práctica ya no exista más.
Agradecer a las diputadas y diputados que presentaron la iniciativa @vladomirosevic @abernales , junto con @felixecologista quien ayudó a que avanzara, cómo las autoridades que siempre nos apoyan.

El pasado 4 de septiembre, nuestro equipo compuesto por @alejandra.s92 @diego.friver @celestejim_ y nuestra presidenta @danielamirandavidal se infiltraron en la medialuna Chocalan, ubicada en Melipilla, donde estos actos de maltrato animal se repitieron una y otra vez, cuando un novillo se desplomaba en el suelo después de una atajada. Esto es maltrato animal.

El candidato a la presidencia Marco Enríquez Ominami fue el primero de los candidatos/as que se reunió con nuestra organización y otras animalistas, para firmar un compromiso con los animales.
Este detalla que existirá “el trabajo y la promoción de proyectos que prohíban y castiguen cualquier acto que involucre sufrimiento animal en beneficio de la entretención humana, tales como el rodeo, circos que involucran la participación de animales y carreras de galgos, entre otros.”
Nuestra vicepresidenta @mariapazorrego quien acudió a la cita, agradeció el compromiso de MEO y espera que los otros candidatos puedan replicar esta iniciativa.

Presidential candidate Marco Enríquez Ominami was the first candidate to have a meeting with our organization and other activists to sign a commitment to animal protection.
This commitment states that there will be “promotion of projects that prohibit and punish any act involving animal suffering for human entertainment, such as rodeo, circuses with animals, greyhound racing, and other similar practices.”
Our vice president @mariapazorrego, who attended the meeting, thanked the candidate for his support and hopes that other candidates will follow this initiative.
