Por un Chile que reconozca a los animales como seres sintientes.

El día de ayer, como @animallibre a través de nuestro fundador @mauricioserranopalma junto a diputados y diversas organizaciones, nos reunimos con el Ministro de la Secretaría General de la Presidencia para dar un paso crucial: solicitar el patrocinio del gobierno a la reforma constitucional que busca reconocer a los animales como seres sintientes.

¿Qué significa esto? Que por primera vez, en nuestra Constitución, se consideraría a los animales no como cosas, sino como seres capaces de sentir, sufrir y disfrutar. Un cambio que reconoce lo que ya sabemos: ellos no son objetos, son vidas que merecen respeto y protección.

El respaldo del gobierno es esencial para que esta iniciativa avance en el Congreso. Es más que un trámite político: es una declaración de principios sobre el tipo de sociedad que queremos construir. Una sociedad que no mire hacia otro lado frente al sufrimiento, que entienda que la justicia no debe depender de la especie.

Este es el comienzo de un cambio histórico, pero no podemos hacerlo solos. Necesitamos tu apoyo, tu voz y tu compromiso para que esta reforma sea una realidad.

Por los animales. Por un Chile más justo. Por un futuro donde la empatía sea ley.

Ayúdanos a construir un país donde todos los seres tengan un lugar digno bajo el mismo cielo.

Queremos agradecer el trabajo y compromiso de organizaciones como @vegetarianos_hoy y @teprotejo , activistas como @elialbasetti , el reciente concejal @fede_koch , el diputado @ciudadanovideladiputado y cada persona que está participando de manera activa en esta iniciativa para cambiar la realidad de los animales en el país.

For a Chile that recognizes animals as sentient beings

Yesterday,  deputies and different organizations along with our founder @mauricioserranopalma in representation of @animallibre had a meeting with the Minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency to take an important step: to request government sponsorship for the constitutional reform that aims to recognize animals as sentient beings.

What does this mean? It means that for the first time, our Constitution would consider animals as beings capable of feeling, suffering, and enjoying life. A change that recognizes what we already know: animals are not objects, they are lives that deserve respect and protection.

The support from the government is crucial for this initiative to move forward in Congress. It’s more than a political issue: this is a statement of principles about the kind of society we want to build. A society that doesn’t ignore the suffering of others, and that understands that justice should not depend on species. 

This is the beginning of a historic change, but we can’t do this alone. We need your support, your voice, and commitment to make this reform a reality.

For the animals, for a fairer Chile and for a future where empathy is the law.
